Today was a mixed bag... 18 Golfers divided into six 3-balls for our 1st return to The Ridge for nearly 5 years. With the 2's comp now included in the monthly fees, we used our spare £'s to get some prize money for the best team score...

Most of the early chatter was about the incredible breakfast... & about whether Rhod would regret wearing shorts. Basically, during the early wind & showers everyone thought Rhod was a nutter & when the sun came out everyone wished they'd worn shorts. Maybe it was the shorts that were the secret to Rhod winning the 1st nearest the pin on the 4th hole which he also celebrated a '2', as did Paul McGuirk for the only two 2's of the day & they'll both have £9 off their next round.  The 9th was won by Ian Horsham, and the 12th by Dave 'Bouncy Castle' Sears. Surprisingly, not one of the 18 got onto the 17th green!!

What a difference a month makes, at least for Derek Bevan... A month ago Derek won with 35pts, a month and a 2 shot cut later, and Derek wins the 'most-golf-played' with 18pts.  In the team game, it was the final team (Terry, Ian & Paul M - all with 32pts) that won a 3-way share of £18, winning by 9pts... so it's not a surprise that two of these three feature in this month's placings... unfortunately for Paul M he ended up in 4th place on countback, behind Ian in 3rd and Terry in 2nd place; but this month's winner with an impressive 34pts is Paul Flint. Congratulations Paul, it's always good to see a new winner & everyone is pleased that you'll be cut 2 shots.

It's at Broome Park on Friday 17th May. We'll have our usual Society game but there'll also be a charity team comp & an auction to raise money for the charity, including a 4-Ball at Royal St George's. It's a great opportunity to invite friends & get more people involved to raise more money for a great cause.
